Welcome to my blog!

If you ask me what my very favourite thing is I would not hesitate to say my family. I came into motherhood quite late on, and was immediately overwhelmed with how amazing it is. Now I would like nothing more than to be a Domestic Goddess, and surround my family in love, good food, beautiful things and lots of happy memories. And like the majority of families these days, we need to do it on a budget!

I firmly believe we all have a little bit of the Domestic Goddess inside us, just waiting to break out. Whether that is knowing how to make a roast chicken feed a family of 4 for a week, being able to make, repair or recycle clothes, hunting down a bargain, or simply turning everyday, simple things into pretty or useful items, with a little bit of imagination we can all dip in to the Goddess inside and make our lives that little bit more interesting.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy sharing my (challenging) journey into Domestic Goddessness!

Recycled ATC!

Another week has flown by and once again I'm linking up with Wendy for Handmade Monday. You can find her blog at  1st Unique Gifts and as usual there are plenty of other bloggers linking up with their crafty blogs,  all well worth a visit. Handmade Monday is now a year old too! Well done and thank you to Wendy for hosting it :)

This week I wanted to show an ATC I made for the ATC Trail on  ukscrappers . I made it from offcuts and recycled bits and pieces as part of a stashbusting promise to myself to not buy any more papercrafting supplies for 3 months and to just use what I have and what I can get for free.

The stars are leftover from some Christmas cards I made with Caoimhe, we sponged silver paint on to paper and cut out stars with my Big Shot. The paper I used is all off cuts I originally got in a pound bag in the pound shop and I stamped the word star onto a scrap piece of paper I might have thrown away once upon a time.

I hope the recipient enjoys it :)

Til next time!

I keep all sorts of little bits and bobs, I know that if I throw it away then I will need it within weeks. I love doing ATC's.

Stashbusting is a great idea - I must add that to my list of unkept new year's resolutions!

I am def. into recycling. What a good example there too. You will miss all this when work beckons.
Stashbusting - I like that word. Wonder if I could use it in scrabble. lol

That's very pretty. I try to recycle as much as possible (altho I admit I threw a bunch of paper I had been saving into the recycle bin this week as I have been cleaning out my craft closet because it's quite a mess and I just have to get things organized). However, this is lovely!

That is lovely. I really try to recycle though sometimes you just need that flash of inspiration. Mich

Ooh, I'm impressed - no buying for 3 months! I don't think I'd manage to stick to that. Great ATC.
