Welcome to my blog!

If you ask me what my very favourite thing is I would not hesitate to say my family. I came into motherhood quite late on, and was immediately overwhelmed with how amazing it is. Now I would like nothing more than to be a Domestic Goddess, and surround my family in love, good food, beautiful things and lots of happy memories. And like the majority of families these days, we need to do it on a budget!

I firmly believe we all have a little bit of the Domestic Goddess inside us, just waiting to break out. Whether that is knowing how to make a roast chicken feed a family of 4 for a week, being able to make, repair or recycle clothes, hunting down a bargain, or simply turning everyday, simple things into pretty or useful items, with a little bit of imagination we can all dip in to the Goddess inside and make our lives that little bit more interesting.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy sharing my (challenging) journey into Domestic Goddessness!

Look what I made!

It's Handmade Monday once again (where does the week go??) so don't forget to visit Wendy at 1st Unique Gifts for the Handmade Monday Link Party. Lots of lovely blogs there, and I'll be having a wander over myself shortly if I get the chance.

Bit of a cheating Handmade Monday for me this week. Although to be fair I *have* managed a tiny bit of crafting thins morning, so I do have something to show on Handmade Monday. But in my defence I have been otherwise distracted by the squirmy little girl in my belly making a rather belated, although speedy, entrance to the world last Tuesday, at 6 days overdue. Bit of a whirlwind labour really, just about 6 hours long and somehow I managed to stay at home until the very last possible moment. Part of that was because I didn't think I was in labour, and a chat to the midwife on labour ward led me to believe if I was in labour, I was very early doors. Something about the fact I could talk to her or something. Apparently you can't talk through contractions. (Obviously not met me before!) Would love to have seen her face when I rolled up at the Labour ward an hour later fully dilated and ready for launch! I was a bit too busy to ask which midwife it was who thought I was only in the early stages, as Teaghan Alice arrived about an hour later. Does she count towards Handmade Monday?? :)

I did manage to knock up a thank you card this morning for the lovely midwife who delivered her.

And there was a bit of time for a bit of messy play with the Flip Flop as well. We made a telescope to go with the pirate sword and eye patch she got at Blue Planet on Friday.

Off to fulfill my role as Milk Machine now.
Til next time!

My most favorite Handmade Monday of all!!! I love her name! I love her sweet little face!! :) And I love your story. I once told a L & D nurse I was ready for the baby to come out (I am sorry, but I could feel his head ready to come out, I know what that feels like!) and she said, "No, last time I checked you were not fully dilated." And I said, "Just check!" so she did, I will never forget her saying, "Go get the doctor, this baby is coming!" What do they know?! LOL!!
Congratulations Mom! You did a fine job. Well, with your co-producer! :) And then you made a card? You rock!

Oh, she is absolutely beautiful and how could she not count towards a Handmade Monday post???

I have similar labour stories (one just like Susie's) and one of mine was born at home on Xmas morning - I was chatting right up until she was born (and during!). They recorded a 2-minute pushing stage (I pushed twice in total, once while I was saying "I can't push")!!!

Congratulations on such a wonderful addition to your family xx
