Welcome to my blog!

If you ask me what my very favourite thing is I would not hesitate to say my family. I came into motherhood quite late on, and was immediately overwhelmed with how amazing it is. Now I would like nothing more than to be a Domestic Goddess, and surround my family in love, good food, beautiful things and lots of happy memories. And like the majority of families these days, we need to do it on a budget!

I firmly believe we all have a little bit of the Domestic Goddess inside us, just waiting to break out. Whether that is knowing how to make a roast chicken feed a family of 4 for a week, being able to make, repair or recycle clothes, hunting down a bargain, or simply turning everyday, simple things into pretty or useful items, with a little bit of imagination we can all dip in to the Goddess inside and make our lives that little bit more interesting.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy sharing my (challenging) journey into Domestic Goddessness!

The big reveal

You might remember I told you about something I was in the process of making last week. Well here it is completed.  It was fun to do even though it left me quite frustrated at times. No matter what I did I couldn't get the loop to turn (it wasn't just me 3 of us tried and failed! ) in fact I ended up using some of my own similar fabric that was thinner. I also chickened out of doing button holes! That's something youtube is going to have to teach me at some point.

We had a lovely day at Tatton Park at the medieval fayre. And I came away with some leather offcuts to play with. Not sure what they will become yet.

I've also been doing some wet felting this week. I made some beads. Again no idea what they will be used for although I have a few ideas.

I hope everyone has had a lovely fathers day. What did you get for the men in your lives?

Its that time of the week for a visit to Wendy's blog for Handmade Monday to catch up with the latest goings on in the crafty blog universe.  Hope to see you there :)

Til next time

I've made that bag! Only I never got round to sewing on the buttons as I was a little impatient the day I had a go. It's a rewarding project though!
