Welcome to my blog!

If you ask me what my very favourite thing is I would not hesitate to say my family. I came into motherhood quite late on, and was immediately overwhelmed with how amazing it is. Now I would like nothing more than to be a Domestic Goddess, and surround my family in love, good food, beautiful things and lots of happy memories. And like the majority of families these days, we need to do it on a budget!

I firmly believe we all have a little bit of the Domestic Goddess inside us, just waiting to break out. Whether that is knowing how to make a roast chicken feed a family of 4 for a week, being able to make, repair or recycle clothes, hunting down a bargain, or simply turning everyday, simple things into pretty or useful items, with a little bit of imagination we can all dip in to the Goddess inside and make our lives that little bit more interesting.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy sharing my (challenging) journey into Domestic Goddessness!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope the mothers amongst you have been spoilt rotten by the kids. Judging by my Facebook timeline, most of the Mums I know seem to have had a lovely day. I still find it quite surreal that I am a mum, and feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have my two gorgeous girls in my life. I never dreamed that it would ever happen for us after many years of trying. In the end it all worked out for us, but others are not so lucky, and go through all konds of hell to experience what many people find quite natural and easy - conceivibg, carrying and having a child. So while you enjoy your treats today, just spare a thought for those ladies who would love to be a mummy but for one reason or other have not been as lucky as we have.

Of course it's time for  Handmade Monday and also  I made this! blog hops. The first hosted by Wendy, the latter hoated by the Bath Bomb Creations team. Lots of great blogs are posted there so take a look!

This week I have a sewing project to share and I also want to share my Hermann and Hetty news too.

I have carried on with my sourdough baking, and have even been brave enough to experiment a little. To the ladt baych of Hermann I decided to add cocoa powder and chocolate drops and make chocolate muffins. They were lovely and will defintely be made again. I haven't tried any other bread recipes yet but I will.

My sewing project was a little taggie for Teaghan. I made it out of scraps in my fabric stash, the fabric has been upcycled from a pair of my pyjamas,  and an old flannel cot sheet. The whole project only took a couple of hours to complete, including distraction time! Its not perfect but I doubt Teaghan cares about that!

Well that's about it for this week. Don't forget to check out the other blogs and have yourselves a great week.

Til next time!

I love the taggie fabric, very quirky. I'm really hoping no one gives me a Hermann as I would put on pounds and pounds! Have a lovely week x

What a great fabric for your taggie and so easy to spot when it falls from their grasp! My jim jams were pale in comparison :)

Love the taggie. It must be really heart wrenching to not be able to conceive when it's what you want so bad. We are indeed lucky Mich x

I dream about having a child one day not the right time at the moment but can't imaging not being a mother, I think it's really nice of you to be thinking about those who are unable to! Have to admit I had to google what a taggie was, is a great idea though and love that yours is made of recycled materials!

Your taggie is super, lovely polar bear fabric. I had a Herman the German cake as well, but we shared out amongst P's friends as there was only so much we could eat! Mixing it with chocolate sounds like abrilliant idea.

Oh sweet! I always meant to make a table for my little boys, but I never got around to it. Will have to do one for a friend's baby instead. Laura x

The taggie fabric is great, I like that you used re-cycled PJ's. Chocolate muffins sound good, I may just have to get some for dessert tonight.

Sorry I am so late I have been trying to get round everyone I have missed over the past few weeks and it takes time. Love your taggy, great polar bear fabric, I bet she loves it. I understand how you feel about your children as my DD had problems conceiving and when they finally had the boys ..... well, what can I say.
