Welcome to my blog!

If you ask me what my very favourite thing is I would not hesitate to say my family. I came into motherhood quite late on, and was immediately overwhelmed with how amazing it is. Now I would like nothing more than to be a Domestic Goddess, and surround my family in love, good food, beautiful things and lots of happy memories. And like the majority of families these days, we need to do it on a budget!

I firmly believe we all have a little bit of the Domestic Goddess inside us, just waiting to break out. Whether that is knowing how to make a roast chicken feed a family of 4 for a week, being able to make, repair or recycle clothes, hunting down a bargain, or simply turning everyday, simple things into pretty or useful items, with a little bit of imagination we can all dip in to the Goddess inside and make our lives that little bit more interesting.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy sharing my (challenging) journey into Domestic Goddessness!

It's not all cardies!

Believe it or not, I have been partaking in a little bit of non-garment crafting this week. It is true that I have only got the left front border and a small amount of sewing to do before cardie no 2 is complete, and cardie no 3 is already on the needles waiting to go. But I have to turn my thoughts to other crafts from time to time too.

In little over a week I have the dubious pleasure of presenting a cake to my dad for his birthday, as followers of this blog will already know! In my head it is all going to be fine. A schedule is going round and round in my mind and I have some idea of when things need to be done by. I have an idea how I want it to look, and those blocks of coloured fondant languishing in my cupboard are already formed into cute little decorations ready to go on top of the cake. All in my head of course. Quite when I'll have time to make said cake is another matter. Four days away in York certainly aren't going to help. But, meh! As my old man would say: it'll be reet.

In other news. it is my mum's birthday today. A l title late night crafting- whilst the Flip Flop was safely tucked away in bed, and little fingers could not pillage my craft box! - resulted in the following card:

Quite pleased with it actually. Hope my mum likes it too.

Updates on the cake and the cardies to follow. Bet you can't wait!
